Oleate Prevents Palmitate-Induced Atrophy via Modulation of Mitochondrial ROS Production in Skeletal Myotubes

<div>The effects of oleic acid and MitoTEMPO on the expression of proinflammatory cytokines in PA-treated myotubes. Differentiated myotubes were cotreated with 0.3 mM palmitate and/or 0.5 mM oleate for 30 h. For some cells, 25 nM of MitoTEMPO was treated 1 h prior to palmitate treatment. The gene expressions of TNF-<i>α</i>, IL6, and IL1-<i>β</i> were quantified. Bar graph represented means ± SE.
