The effects of TETA on Asc oxidation. Oxygen consumption rate (OCR) of Asc in aqueous solution was determined by the use of an electrode oxygen monitor. 1 mM Asc alone, 30 μM TETA/1 mM Asc, or 30 μM TETA alone was added to DMEM with 10% FBS. 600 U/mL catalase was then given into each reaction to determine the return of O₂.
