Glycosides from <i>Stevia rebaudiana</i> Bertoni Possess Insulin-Mimetic and Antioxidant Activities in Rat Cardiac Fibroblasts

<div>Effect of different steviol glycoside mixtures on intracellular GSH levels in rat cardiac fibroblasts. (a) Rat cardiac fibroblasts were treated with R97, R60, SG, or TRU (1 mg/mL) for 24 hours, and then, intracellular GSH levels were measured using the fluorescence probe MCB as described in the experimental procedure section. (b) Upon pretreatment with steviol glycosides, rat fibroblasts were exposed to 100 <i>μ</i>M H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> for 30 min and then assayed for intracellular GSH levels. Results are expressed as means ± SD of four independent experiments.
