Effect of S and MI on kidney histopathology, using hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining. The H&E stain showed a mild and patchy glomerular retraction, with dilation of the proximal convoluted tubules (PCTs), in the S group. MI and S+MI groups showed tubules with patchy dilation of PCTs, focal loss of PCT brush border, thinning of their lining epithelium, and swelling of the cells. Results are representatives of five different mice in each group (). Scale bars are 50 μm.
