Protection of Kaempferol on Oxidative Stress-Induced Retinal Pigment Epithelial Cell Damage

Kaempferol significantly decreased the ROS activity while increased SOD activity in H2O2-treated ARPE-19 cells. (a) ARPE-19 cells were pretreated with or without 1 mM H2O2 for 24 h, followed by a 24 h exposure to kaempferol. The intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) activities were measured by fluorescence microscope. (b) ARPE-19 cells were pretreated with or without 1 mM H2O2 for 24 h, followed by a 24 h exposure to kaempferol; the activities of cellular SOD were measured by a SOD activity assay kit.
