Photomicrographs of gastric mucosa stained with H&E and PAS of the rats subjected to induction of chronic ulcer by 30% acetic acid. Animals were treated orally with 0.9% NaCl solution (LC: injured control), ranitidine (60 mg/kg), or ethanolic extract of the leaves of Spondias mombin (SmEE, 100 mg/kg) for 14 days.
