Puerarin Mitigates Diabetic Hepatic Steatosis and Fibrosis by Inhibiting TGF-<i>β</i> Signaling Pathway Activation in Type 2 Diabetic Rats

<div>PUR improved glucose metabolism and inhibited lipogenesis in diabetic liver. PUR 100 mg/kg was orally administered to diabetic rats for eight weeks, and mRNA expression in liver tissue of Pepck (a) and G6p (b) was detected by real-time PCR. Hepatic lipase activity was assayed (c), and mRNA expressions in liver tissue of Srebp1c (d), Scd1 (e), Cpt1a (f), and Acox (g) were detected by real-time PCR.
