Cellular DNA damage in HDF assessed using the standard alkaline comet assay. HDF were serially passaged under the two oxygen tensions (21% O2 and 5% O2), and at matched cell passage, the intensity of fluorescence in the tail was analyzed in young (Y) and old (O) HDF.
