Overexpression of PGC-1α restored HG-induced mitochondrial alteration and apoptosis. HK-2 cells were transfected with pcDNA4 myc PGC-1α for 24 h; the PGC-1α-overexpressed cells were treated with TAK242 for 2 h prior to HG (30 mM) treatment, with parthenolide and HG (30 mM) or with HG (30 mM) for 24 h.
