Hydrogen Sulfide Donor NaHS Improves Metabolism and Reduces Muscle Atrophy in Type 2 Diabetes: Implication for Understanding Sarcopenic Pathophysiology

<div>Altered H<sub>2</sub>S dynamics as a function of diabetes. H<sub>2</sub>S levels in serum (a) and muscles (b) together with the rate of H<sub>2</sub>S production (c) were measured using the methylene blue spectrophotometric assay. mRNA expression of key enzymes involved in H<sub>2</sub>S synthesis including CSE, CBS, and 3-MST (d, e, f) was determined using the RT-PCR assay.
