Atorvastatin Downregulates In Vitro Methyl Methanesulfonate and Cyclophosphamide Alkylation-Mediated Cellular and DNA Injuries

Effect of cotreatment with atorvastatin (AVA) on methyl methanesulfonate- (MMS-) or cyclophosphamide- (CPA-) induced micronuclei in HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells were coincubated with AVA at 10 and 25 μM with10 μM MMS after (a) 6 h or (b) 24 h of exposure. The coincubation with 60 μM CPA during (c) 6 h or (d) 24 h followed the same protocol. 2000 cells were scored per treatment for each experiment ( in triplicate; one-way ANOVA followed by a Tukey’s post hoc test).
