Urinary Mitochondrial DNA Identifies Renal Dysfunction and Mitochondrial Damage in Sepsis-Induced Acute Kidney Injury

Urinary mitochondrial DNA (UmtDNA) copy number is associated with severity of renal injury in patients with diagnosis of sepsis. Patients were stratified into three groups: no AKI (), mild AKI (), and severe AKI (). Urinary COX3/nDNA (a) and ND1/nDNA (b) were significantly increased in severe AKI compared with those in no AKI or mild AKI. ; . NS: no significance.
