Protective Effects of Taraxasterol against Ethanol-Induced Liver Injury by Regulating CYP2E1/Nrf2/HO-1 and NF-κB Signaling Pathways in Mice

Effects of taraxasterol on the expressions of Nrf2, HO-1, IκBα, and NF-κB p65 in liver tissues of mice with ethanol-induced liver injury. The mice were treated with taraxasterol (2.5, 5, and 10 mg/kg, respectively) or TPN and induced with EtOH as described in Materials and Methods. The expressions of Nrf2, HO-1, IκBα, and NF-κB p65 in liver tissues were measured by Western blot analysis. The relative expressions of these proteins were normalized to β-actin. The values represent the means ± SEMs. vs. normal group; and vs. EtOH group.
