Alpha-tocopherol levels and oxidative status in heart tissue. Left ventricles of heart tissue were harvested, and α-tocopherol (a) and MDA levels (b) were quantified by LC-MS/MS. Protein carbonyl content was analyzed by Oxyblot following densitometric analysis of three different protein bands. Relative ratios were quantified and normalized using β-actin (c).
