Summary of effects of melatonin against H2O2-induced oxidative damage in RPE cells. Melatonin inhibits H2O2-induced RPE cell damage, decreases the apoptosis rate, increases mitochondrial membrane potential, decreases caspase activation, and mediates the autophagy pathway in ARPE-19 cells.
