Melatonin inhibits H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-induced RPE cell damage, decreases the apoptosis rate, increases mitochondrial membrane potential, decreases caspase activation, and mediates the autophagy pathway in ARPE-19 cells.</div>
