Using ROS as a Second Messenger, NADPH Oxidase 2 Mediates Macrophage Senescence via Interaction with NF-κB during Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection

Figure 2

PAO1 infection in macrophages intrigues ROS production and the activation of NADPH oxidase elements gp91phox and nuclear NF-κB p65. (a) ROS production during PAO1 infection in macrophages was time- and colony count-dependent; ANOVA test showed a significant difference among these groups (). Three independent experiments were conducted; (b) after PAO1 infection, an increased expression of gp91phox was observed, following a prolonged duration and increased colony count infection (upper line; Na-K-ATPase was used as control); nuclear NF-κB p65 expression and phosphorylation at Ser536 were elevated during PAO1 infection in macrophage (lower line; histone H3 was used as control). using ANOVA test for these groups.
