Effects of prenatal hypoxia (HPX) on Complex I and IV activity rates of cardiac mitochondria from left ventricular heart tissue and cardiomyocytes of hearts from male and female offspring exposed to normoxia (NMX, open bars) or prenatal HPX (10.5% O2, 14 d, hatched bars). The activity rate (unit) was expressed as the oxidation rate of substrate per min per mg mitochondrial protein (CI: oxidation of NADH; CIV: oxidation of ferrocytochrome c). indicates significant difference from the NMX control.
