Dihydrotanshinone-Induced NOX5 Activation Inhibits Breast Cancer Stem Cell through the ROS/Stat3 Signaling Pathway

Figure 3

Effect of DTHA on the proportion of CD44high/CD24low- and ALDH-positive cell in breast cancer cell lines. The CD44high/CD24low cell population was analyzed by flow cytometric analysis of MDA-MB-231 cells with DTHA (1 μM) for 2 days. For FACS analysis, 10,000 cells were acquired. Gating was based on a control antibody (Red Cross) (a). The effect of DHTS on the ALDH-positive cell population. MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with DTHA (1 μM) for 2 days and subjected to an ALDEFLUOR assay. The upper panel shows ALDH-positive cells with the ALDH inhibitor, DEAB as a negative control, and the lower panel represents ALDH-positive cells without DEAB. The ALDH-positive population was gated in a box (red dot line box) (b).
