The Specific Inhibition of SOD1 Selectively Promotes Apoptosis of Cancer Cells via Regulation of the ROS Signaling Network

Figure 3

The specific SOD1 inhibition selectively represses ERK, PI3K, and NF-κB signaling pathways in cancer cells. (a–c) The phosphorylation of the key signaling proteins is evaluated by western blotting analysis. DU145, HeLa, and RWPE-1 cells are incubated, respectively, with varied concentrations of LD100 for 24 h. (d) The time dependence of the signaling protein phosphorylation in 50 μM LD100-treated HeLa cells is evaluated by western blotting analysis. The relative intensity of protein bands () in the western blotting is quantified by using the ImageJ software and normalized through the negative control, respectively. Representative results from three independent experiments are shown. Data are mean of triplicate (; unpaired Student’s -test), and all error bars are SD.
