Lupeol Counteracts the Proinflammatory Signalling Triggered in Macrophages by 7-Keto-Cholesterol: New Perspectives in the Therapy of Atherosclerosis

<div>Effect of lupeol on intracellular lipid levels and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. <i>M</i><sub>(IFN-<i>γ</i>/LPS)</sub> macrophages pretreated with lupeol for 1 hour were stimulated with 7-keto-cholesterol (7KC) for 20 hours. THP-1 <i>M</i><sub>(IFN-<i>γ</i>/LPS)</sub> macrophages were analyzed for lipid droplets (a) and primary <i>M</i><sub>(IFN-<i>γ</i>/LPS)</sub> macrophages were analyzed for ROS generation (b) by flow cytometry.
