Nrf2 activation is not involved in tBHQ-exerted protection against VCAM-1 activation. HAEC cells were transfected with siNrf2 or scramble siRNA (siNC) and followed by TNFα (10 ng·mL^-1, 6 h for mRNA and 16 h for protein detection) treatment. tBHQ (100 μmol·L^-1) was added 1 h before TNFα treatment. (a) The mRNA level of Nrf2 was detected after 24 h tBHQ treatment. (b) Nrf2 protein expression was detected after 24 h tBHQ treatment. (c) Silence efficiency was evaluated by detecting mRNA level of Nrf2. (d) The mRNA level of Vcam-1 was detected. (e) VCAM-1 expression was detected.
