Schematic representation of TRP channels. TRP channels consist of 6 transmembrane domains and variable intracellular N- and C-termini, with a reentry loop that forms a pore located between S5 and S6. As cation channels, this structure constitutes an influx pathway mostly for Ca²⁺, Na⁺, and Mg²⁺.
