Rat Chondrocyte Inflammation and Osteoarthritis Are Ameliorated by Madecassoside

<div>MA suppresses the expression levels of MMP-3 and MMP-13, COX-2, and iNOS in IL-1<i>β</i>-induced rat osteoarthritic chondrocytes. MA-pretreated chondrocytes were treated with (10 ng/ml) IL-1<i>β</i> for 24 hours. The expression of MMPs and inflammatory genes in rat chondrocytes was evaluated at the mRNA level using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR (a)–(d), and western blotting was used to evaluate
