Interleukin-6 Promotes Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition and Cell Invasion through Integrin β6 Upregulation in Colorectal Cancer

Integrin β6 is involved in IL-6-induced EMT of CRC cells. HT-29 and Colo205 cells were pretreated with antibody 10D5 (a) for 1 h and maintained thereafter to block the function of integrin β6 or with siRNA (b) for 24 h to knock down integrin β6, followed by stimulation with IL-6 (20 ng/ml) for 24 h. The role of integrin β6 in IL-6-mediated expression of EMT markers E-cadherin and Vimentin was assessed by the western blotting assay. Data shown is representative of 3 independent experiments.
