Acupuncture Attenuates Inflammation in Microglia of Vascular Dementia Rats by Inhibiting miR-93-Mediated TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB Signaling Pathway

Proposed scheme showing how acupuncture inhibits 2VO-induced inflammatory response via the miR-93-mediated TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway. Acupuncture treatment alleviates cognitive dysfunction and decreases IL-6 and TNF-α expressions. These effects involve suppression of miR-93 expression and the inhibition of activation of the TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathway. TLR4 antagonist TAK-242 mimics the effects of acupuncture, while TLR4 agonist LPS reverses the beneficial effects of acupuncture.
