Stimulation of AMPK Prevents Diabetes-Induced Photoreceptor Cell Degeneration

<div>AMPK stimulation prevented diabetes-induced photoreceptor cell degeneration via autophagy regulation. Western blotting (a) was used to evaluate the expression levels of LC3 and p62 in 661w cells treated with AGEs after AMPK stimulation. Densitometric analysis showed that the elevation in LC3 (b) and p62 (c) was statistically significant.
