A Comparison of the Antiosteoporotic Effects of Cornelian Cherry (Cornus mas L.) Extracts from Red and Yellow Fruits Containing Different Constituents of Polyphenols and Iridoids in Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts

Figure 3

The effects of Cornus mas L. extracts on alkaline phosphatase (ALP) staining in the primary osteoblasts of mice. The primary osteoblasts were incubated with ascorbic acid (50 μg/mL) and β-glycerophosphate (10 mM) and cotreated with RED EXT1, YL EXT2, and YL EXT3 at three different concentrations (2, 5, and 10 μg/mL) for 3 days. ALP-positive cells were visualized using a light microscope and indicated with arrows. CM, Cornus mas L. extract.
