Increased Iron Levels and Oxidative Stress Mediate Age-Related Impairments in Male and Female Drosophila melanogaster

Males and females of Drosophila melanogaster with 30-day-old show a decrease in walking ability performed by the footbridge test. In addition, 5-day-old males are faster than females of the same age. The results are represented as error (SEM) and are expressed in time to cross. and in relation to their respective control (5-day-old male or 5 day-old-female) and &&, in relation to 5-day-old males with 5-day-old females.
