Magnolol Protects against MPTP/MPP+-Induced Toxicity via Inhibition of Oxidative Stress in In Vivo and In Vitro Models of Parkinson’s Disease

Effect of magnolol on ROS production in MPP+-treated human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. Cells were incubated with H2DCF-DA for 30 min at 37°C. And then, 2.5 mM MPP+ in the presence or absence of magnolol (1 or 3 μM) were exposed for 24 h. ROS production was assessed by DCF fluorescence. These are representative results from two independent experiments. Results are means ± SD ( ). Statistical comparisons were carried out by one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s test. * versus vehicle (DMSO), ## versus MPP+ + vehicle (DMSO).
