Schematic representation of the antiangiogenic and antitumorigenic properties of PPARα. PPARα ligands reduce tumor growth by direct inhibition of tumor cell functions (black pathway). In addition, they prevent tumor-associated angiogenesis via direct (red pathway) as well as indirect (green pathway) inhibition of endothelial cell functions.
