HMGB1 Is Involved in the Protective Effect of the PPARα Agonist Fenofibrate against Cardiac Hypertrophy

Fenofibrate modulates the localization of HMGB1 in cardiomyocytes. Cells were treated with 10 μM fenofibrate or DMSO for 36 h and then with or without LPS stimulation (50 ng/mL) for 10 h. (a) Cells were analyzed by western blot to determine the effect of fenofibrate on the distribution of HMGB1 between the nucleus and cytoplasm. Histone H3 and cytoplasmic tubulin were used as loading controls for nuclear protein and cytoplasm protein, respectively. Data are representative of three independent experiments.
