A Reduction in ADAM17 Expression Is Involved in the Protective Effect of the PPAR-α Activator Fenofibrate on Pressure Overload-Induced Cardiac Hypertrophy

Fenofibrate reduced the expression of a disintegrin and metalloproteinase-17 (ADAM17) in primary cardiomyocytes stimulated with 100 nM angiotensin II for 24 hours. After pretreated with fenofibrate (10 μM) for 1 hour, cardiomyocytes were then stimulated with 100 nM angiotensin II for 24 hours.
