These areas together represent a vascular channel that was prefabricated within the PCL-HA scaffold. Clear areas occupied by surrounding PCL-HA scaffold fibers are marked with an “X”. (b) Multiple capillaries (red, marked with *) are also seen in areas of connective tissue, indicating extensive neovascularization. (c) In contrast, control scaffolds only show granulation tissue without evidence of significant neovascularization.
