Expression of neural progenitor proteins by immunoblot analysis. Western blot analysis shows the expression of the neural progenitor proteins, tubulin and GFAP, in differentiated (a) and undifferentiated (b) eBM-MSCs generated from low and high passaged cells from middle-aged (lanes 1 and 2, resp.) and young (lanes 3 and 4, resp.) horses. Beta-actin was used as an internal control. 5 μg of protein was loaded per lane. It is interesting to note the expression of neural progenitor proteins in undifferentiated MSCs, suggesting that the plasticity of equine MSCs may go beyond extramesodermal lineages.
