A Clinical Study of Autologous Bone Marrow Mononuclear Cells for Cerebral Palsy Patients: A New Frontier
Table 6
Details of two patients who had seizures as an adverse event after cellular therapy.
Patient 1
The patient had abnormal EEG with generalised polyspike waves burst followed by background attenuation and multifocal epileptiform discharges and a history of seizures before intervention. After the intervention, the seizure frequency increased. The seizures stopped after 2 months by introducing Lamotrigine and increasing the dosage of Valproate.
Patient 2
The patient had abnormal EEG with sharp wave potentials over left parietal region and a history of seizures before intervention. After the intervention, the seizure frequency increased. This was controlled by increasing the dosage of Valproate and continuing Clobazam and levetiracetam.
