Donor-derived hepatocytes with a single Fah⁺ hepatocyte containing two nuclei, of which only one expressed β-Gal⁺ in a mouse that received ROSAnZ BMCs (b). Hepatocytes expressing β-Gal⁺ in their nuclei, which were formed by host and donor-derived hepatocytes, expressed Fah⁺ in their cytoplasm, which was derived from the donor, in the regenerating nodules of -ROSAnZ mice that received C57Bl/6J BMCs (Group 2) (c). Sections were stained with anti-Fah and anti-β-Gal antibodies. Scale bar represents 40 μm.
