Gene modules that are induced or repressed in SHS-survived versus control eMSC with high significance (). This figure illustrates general metabolic activation in SHS-survived versus untreated eMSC seen from the upregulation of modules related to energy metabolism, cell cycle, protein turnover, DNA repair, and transcription. The figure shows increased tumor suppression that is evident from the upregulation of TP53 signaling, the induction of the module “targets of MYC transcriptional repression” uncovering the mechanism of Myc suppression in eMSC cells and from the decreased activity of oncogenic pathways.
