Lymphocytic foci number and size in BD-MSC treated and nontreated NOD mice. Following 4 weeks of treatment lacrimal glands were extracted and processed for paraffin embedding. The glands were sectioned and stained with hematoxylin and eosin to measure the number (a) and size (b) of lymphocytic foci. For statistical analyses each lacrimal gland was considered separately and the data are presented as means ± SEM ( for each group).
