In PSCs, developmental genes are marked by bivalent domains containing both H3K4me3 and H3K27me3, which are associated with the transcriptional silencing in the undifferentiated state. The removal of H3K27me3 and the binding of transcription factors (TFs) allow rapid transcriptional activation upon differentiation stimuli.
