Mechanical properties of the particles. Compressive properties of alginate (a) and Si-HPMC (b) particles were investigated by subjecting them to a 30% compression for 30 seconds. The force (μN) and displacement (%) were recorded, and Young’s modulus was determined. Alginate and Si-HPMC particles of 1 mm diameter were selected for this study.
