Effect of a combination of PD and MSCs in lupus-prone MRL.Faslpr mice. Mice were intravenously injected with MSCs once at 12 weeks of age and with PD intraperitoneally once a week from 10 to 16 weeks of age. Survival (a) and body weight (b) were measured weekly. The levels of anti-dsDNA IgG (c) and total IgG (d) in serum were measured every 3 weeks. (e) Total RNA was purified from spleen cells, which were isolated from surviving mice at 20 weeks of age, and the expression of IL-1β, TNF-α, IFN-γ, and IL-12 was examined by RT-PCR.
