Mesenchymal Stromal Cells from the Epidermis and Dermis of Psoriasis Patients: Morphology, Immunophenotype, Differentiation Patterns, and Regulation of T Cell Proliferation

Differentiation capacity of MSCs from the skin of healthy donors and patients with psoriasis. MSCs from the different sources were cultured in adipogenic, osteogenic, or chondrogenic differentiation medium. Adipogenic differentiation was indicated by the accumulation of lipid vacuoles stained with oil red O. Osteogenic differentiation was indicated by alkaline phosphatase positivity. Chondrogenic differentiation was indicated by Alcian blue staining of glycosaminoglycans. The photos are at 100x magnification; scale bar = 100 μm. A representative experiment is shown.
