MAPK p38alpha Kinase Influences Haematopoiesis in Embryonic Stem Cells

Figure 1

Formation of hematopoietic CFU in wild-type and mutant p38α EBs on days 6, 10, and 14 of differentiation. Single-cell suspensions were seeded into complete hematopoietic selective media for 14 days. The overall frequency of all types of hematopoietic colonies (a) and the frequencies of particular CFU-G, CFU-GM, CFU-M, CFU-E, and CFU-GEMM on days 6 (b), 10 (c), and 14 (d) are shown. Representative morphologies of the determined hematopoietic CFU colonies, CFU-M and CFU-G (e), CFU-GM (f), CFU-E (g), and CFU-GEMM (h) are presented. The formation of hemangioblast progenitor/blast cell colonies and their representative morphology are also shown (i). Data are presented as from a minimum of four independent experiments. Statistical significance was determined by ANOVA with post hoc Bonferroni’s multiple comparison test; asterisk “” indicates a statistical significance of .
