CD73 Expression on Mesenchymal Stem Cells Dictates the Reparative Properties via Its Anti-Inflammatory Activity

<div>Regulation of the local immune response by CD73<sup>high</sup> pMSC. The recruitment of immune cells in 5-day MI hearts was not altered by transplantation of either CD73<sup>low</sup> or CD73<sup>high</sup> pMSC (a). A subset of macrophages (CCR2<sup>+</sup>) was significantly diminished in amount in the CD73<sup>high</sup>-treated hearts (b). Notably, CD73<sup>high</sup> pMSC upregulated several anti-inflammatory-related genes (IL-4, IL-10, Arg-1, and TGM-2) and suppressed proinflammatory-related genes (TNF-<i>α</i> and NOS2). <svg
