Application of Stem Cells and Advanced Materials in Nerve Tissue Regeneration
Description
Nervous system dysfunction, caused by car accidents or ageing, has increased year by year which creates a big healthcare burden to the society as well as compromised quality of life for the patients. Tremendous progress in stem cells biology and materials science allows the direct translation of innovative strategies and breakthroughs into novel therapeutics on nervous tissue repairs.
Herein, this special issue will seek recent experimental, theoretical, and clinical advances in the new prospects for stem cell tissue engineering on nerve regeneration. This special issue will include articles describing original results as well as reviews summarizing the current state and trends in the field.
Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Nano- and microfabrication in nerve tissue engineering
- Stem cells and/or scaffolds for central and peripheral nerve regeneration
- Dental and oral-derived stem cells for nerve regeneration
- Mechanotransduction of stem cells in nerve regeneration
- Molecular mechanism of stem cell neurogenesis
