Optimization Models and Algorithms for Services and Operations Management

Description

Optimization of performances is regarded as a key success factor for not only the industrial domain but also the service sector. Over the last decades, various optimization techniques have been employed by managers and management scientists to improve the performance in services and operations management. With rapid growth in computational technologies, including data mining technologies and intelligence algorithms, operations management in both service sectors and industrial field relies more and more on optimal solutions or their approximates based on high-performance algorithms. Thus, the most recent achievements obtained in the field of optimization models and algorithms for services and operations management are worth gathering, which copes with the purpose of the journal of "Scientific Programming “that is a research forum for research and practical experiences with computational techniques aimed specially at supporting scientific and engineering computing.

We invite investigators to contribute with original research articles as well as state-of-the-art articles that provide insights into how programming techniques play an important role in Optimization in Service and Operations Management.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Engineering models and algorithms for services and productions optimization
  • Mathematical programming models for services and production optimization
  • Heuristics and approximate algorithms for services and productions optimization
  • Data mining algorithms for services and productions optimization
  • Optimization models and algorithms for e-business recommendation
  • Advanced modeling and optimization for large-size problems in services and operations management
  • Heuristics and meta-heuristics for services and operations optimization
  • Modeling and optimization techniques applied in scientific computing service and operation environments
  • Resource allocation and task scheduling on modern HPC computer systems and data centers
