Anti-inflammatory activity of extracts and fractions from Laennecia confusa. An inflammatory process was elicited by exposing macrophages to LPS. Crude extracts were exposed to macrophages before the addition of LPS. The anti-inflammatory process was evaluated by measuring the secretion of IL-6 into the supernatant. Shown is the mean ± SD of three independent experiments. Numbers on the bars indicate the concentration of IL-6 in pg/mL. HEE, CEE, MEE, and AEE are hexane, chloroform, methanol, and aqueous extracts, respectively. 𝑃 value < 0.0001.
