Relationships between daily maximum thermal predictors (°C) and mortality of the very elderly (subjects ≥75 years of age) in an inland city (Florence) and coastal-plain city (Livorno). Relationships estimated by using urban and suburban meteorological data for the period 2006–2008 (May–October). Analyses were controlled for air pollution concentrations, daylight hours, year, day of the week, public holidays, and summer population decrement.
