Effect of BSO on glutathione concentration and G6PD activity of isolated cultured hepatocytes. Isolated rat hepatocytes were incubated for 48 h in WE medium containing 10−6 M dexamethasone, 0.1 μg/mL aprotinin, 30 μg/mL kanamycin, and 10−7 M insulin in the presence of 0–0.5 mM BSO. Glutathione level (closed circle) and G6PD activity (open circle) were determined at each BSO concentration.
