The Effects of Tormentic Acid and Extracts from <i>Callistemon citrinus</i> on <i>Candida albicans</i> and <i>Candida tropicalis</i> Growth and Inhibition of Ergosterol Biosynthesis in <i>Candida albicans</i>

<div>The effect extracts from <i>C. citrinus</i> on <i>C. albicans</i>. The graph shows a dose-dependent decrease in <i>C. albicans</i> cell density as the concentration of the ethanol: water extract and the DCM: methanol increased. Percentage inhibition of 80% was observed at 100 <i>μ</i>g/ml. The data represent a mean of four replicates. These data were analysed using one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnett’s test for multiple comparisons, comparing means to the negative control (SDB).
